Tile choice changes the labour, not just the look

Large-format porcelain needs a flatter substrate and fewer, more deliberate cuts. Handmade or zellige-style tile brings variation that has to be set out on the wall before it is fixed. Stone needs sealing and a grout that won’t stain it.

We settle the tile, the grout colour and the trim detail at drawing stage so the set-out and the order quantity are right the first time.

How the job runs

1 · Site visit. Measure, look at the existing waste and stack, discuss what isn’t working.

2 · Plan and elevations. Layout options, tile heights, niche and joinery drawn.

3 · Selections. Tiles, tapware, stone and cabinetry locked in before demolition.

REV D · SET-OUT & FIX · TOOLS AND MORTAR ON SITE

4 · Build. Strip-out, rough-in, waterproofing and screed, then tiling.

5 · Fit-off. Joinery, stone, glass, tapware and accessories.

6 · Handover. Walk the room together, note anything to adjust, clean and clear.
